I’ve been singing since I was seven years old and knew from the very beginning that music was where I belonged. I tried the traditional route of grades, but quickly realised it wasn’t for me, I wanted to focus on expression and creativity, not just ticking boxes. I went on to study Music Performance at Bath College and later deepened my love of songwriting at BIMM, where I discovered that songwriting was truly my calling. After university, I began teaching private singing lessons, sharing what I’d learned and helping others connect with their own voices.

Life took me on a different path for a while. I built a career outside of music, travelled the world, lived in Holland, and eventually made my way to North Devon. But music never left me.I’m a musician through and through. I perform with my band, play solo, and sing and write songs whenever I get the chance. What I love most is exploring different styles, from metal and country to pop, rock and blues. Each genre brings out a different character and stage persona, and that’s where the magic really happens.

Performing again reignited not only my love for music, but my passion for helping others find their voice and confidence too.

Why I Started Bold Note Vocals

Bold Note Vocals grew from my belief that singing is about more than technique, it’s about expression, confidence, and connection. I know how powerful it feels to step on stage and be heard, and I want to help others experience that too.

I’m deeply passionate about grassroots music and about creating encouraging, inclusive spaces where women, men, transgender and non-binary people feel confident to perform. The real change starts at grassroots level, by giving people access to stages, supportive audiences, and belief in their own voice. This commitment is reflected in my Keychange pledge, where I actively work to showcase more women and girls in music.

Bold Note is based at The Palladium Club, North Devon’s only dedicated grassroots music venue. Teaching here means lessons aren’t just about singing; they’re about becoming part of a living music community and helping keep local live music alive.

Whether you dream of performing on stage or simply finding confidence in your voice, my goal is to give you the skills, support, and encouragement to get there.

Being authentic to yourself is what makes the best musicians.
