ABOUT ME
I’ve been singing since I was seven years old and knew from the start that music was where I belonged. I tried the traditional route of grades, but quickly realised it wasn’t for me, I wanted to focus on expression, creativity, and passion, not just ticking boxes.
I studied Music Performance at Bath College and went on to dive deeper into my love of songwriting at BIMM, where I discovered that songwriting was truly my calling. After university, I began teaching private singing lessons, sharing what I’d learned with others.
Life took me on a different path for a while, I built a career outside of music, travelled the world, lived in Holland, and eventually made my way to North Devon. Music never left me though. I formed an originals band, The Pale Teas, where I sing, write songs, and play bass. Performing again reignited my love for helping others find their voice.
Why I Started Bold Note Vocals
Bold Note Vocals grew out of my passion for helping people discover what their voice can really do. For me, singing has always been about more than technique, it’s about expression, confidence, and connection. I know how powerful it feels to step on stage and share a piece of yourself through music, and I want to give others the tools and belief to experience that too.
I also care deeply about the future of live music in North Devon. Over the years, I’ve seen opportunities for grassroots musicians decline, and with them, spaces for creativity and community. That’s why it was so important for me to base Bold Note at The Palladium Club. It’s the only dedicated grassroots music venue left in the area, and a place that has supported countless artists at the start of their journeys. By holding lessons there, I’m not just helping people grow as singers, I’m also connecting them directly to a living, breathing music community.
For me, Bold Note is about keeping that spark alive. Whether you dream of performing on stage, singing for your family, or simply finding confidence in your own voice, my goal is to give you the support, skills, and encouragement to get there.
